At The Fruit Box Group, delivering fresh produce is only part of the story. Through our national food relief initiative, The One Box, we also provide weekly boxes of fruit, vegetables and bread to families experiencing hardship, distributed via trusted schools and community organisations across Australia.

The One Box began as a small pilot program in 2017 with a simple yet powerful mission: to ensure as many people as possible have dignified, reliable and regular access to fresh, nutritious food. Over the years, we’ve not only seen The One Box scale its impact but become a force for good, thanks to the many enduring and long-term corporate partnerships – pivotal in expanding the program’s reach.

New partnership, new opportunities

Access to fresh, high-quality food goes a long way, which is why we are thrilled to share the potential impact of The One Box’s new corporate partnership with Pace Farm. As one of the country’s leading egg producers, Pace Farm brings a long-standing commitment to supporting Australian families. Their company vision – eggs for everyone – speaks directly to the heart of what we do: making nutritious food more accessible to those who need it most.

Their generous $50,000 donation to The One Box will fund the delivery of 4,000 fresh produce boxes to schools along the Eastern Seaboard – enabling 100 households to access fresh food they otherwise cannot afford. Validated by Monash Business School’s independent research, The One Box’s impact extends well beyond nutrition – supporting mental health, restoring dignity and strengthening community connections.

A partnership grounded in shared values

United by the mission of making nutritious food accessible, The One Box’s partnership with Pace Farm exemplifies the lasting, incremental impact multi-year grants can have in solving deep-rooted issues like food insecurity.

“Our company vision is eggs for everyone, which closely aligns with The One Box’s mission – both organisations want to improve access to nutritious food for all Australians.” – Phil Wiese, CEO, Pace Farm

Multiplying impact one box at a time, Pace Farm’s funding goes beyond financial support. It propels the holistic growth of The One Box, and, in turn, the health and community wellbeing of thousands of Australians.

“The impact enablement that Pace Farm’s donation provides is outstanding. We are thrilled by the opportunity to work closely together to better support kids and families in need. We look forward to being able to dream big together.” – Martin Halphen, CEO, The One Box

Ways to get involved

The One Box is an innovative fresh food relief model, effectively scalable with the generous support of donors and corporate partners like Pace Farm. As we approach the end of financial year, the need continues to grow. With the rising cost of living, more families are struggling to put fresh food on the table. The demand for assistance has never been greater, or more urgent.

A tax-deductible donation before 30 June will help us reach more households, more consistently, in the places where it’s needed most.

  • Become a corporate partner – align your business with fresh, dignified food relief
  • Introduce workplace giving – inspire your team to get involved
  • Share the research – independent studies from Monash Business School show our holistic impact on food security, mental health and community wellbeing

This EOFY, let’s deliver more than produce. Let’s deliver on shared values and impact together. Contact us to join our journey of making a difference today.

As the golden hues of Autumn sweep across our streets, embrace the taste of Autumn with crisp apples, juicy pears, plums and more, delivered in your office fruit boxes. Locally sourced from Australia’s finest farms, our seasonal mix perfectly captures the essence of Autumn in every bite.

The ultimate Autumn fruit pair

A mix of sweet and crisp Royal Gala, Pink Lady and Granny Smith apples will continue to feature in your office fruit boxes this season. Packed with vitamin A and potassium, apples are an excellent addition to your office breakfast, helping boost staff productivity throughout the day.

Now in season, Green William and Beurre Bosc pears are a sweet source of fibre and vitamin C, satisfying those mid-afternoon sugar cravings. These pears are incredibly versatile, adding a sweet yet sharp crunch to office salads or elevating your office breakfast toast with a delicious topping of pears, salted walnuts and honey.

Mandarins coming soon

As we approach the colder months of the year, we’ll slowly transition from vitamin K rich plums to adding citrus varieties like Queensland Imperial and Murcott Mandarins to your weekly office deliveries. Full of vitamin C and iron, mandarins help boost immunity and work wonders to prevent infections and colds – so keep your eyes peeled for this citrus! Explore our fruit guide for more information on our seasonal fruit mix and specialty items available via Fruit Box Connect to pique your staff’s interest.

Supporting Australian farmers

While bananas remain an office favourite, recent severe weather conditions in Far North Queensland have significantly impacted crop quality and the wellbeing of our Australian farmers. As a result, the season’s bananas may appear dull, with more external markings and speckling than usual – rest assured they taste just as good! We take pride in supporting our Australian farmers during these challenging times and appreciate your understanding.

Welcoming summer fruit favourites

Although year-end is just a stone’s throw away, our delicious stone fruit is just getting started! Packed with the goodness of vitamins A, C, E and potassium, peaches and nectarines help boost immunity and help you feel energised throughout the day.

Though smaller in size, plums are a rich source of vitamin K and antioxidants. This jewel-toned fruit will soon feature in your office fruit boxes and makes for the perfect addition to your office cereal, porridge or lunch-time salad.

The perfect duo of apples and bananas

This summer, you’ll continue to see a variety of juicy Pink Lady, Granny Smith, and Royal Gala apples in your weekly office fruit boxes. Having an apple every day provides you and your team with the nutrients that enhance productivity, mood, and brainpower all week long. As the weather becomes warmer in the new year, the bananas in your office fruit boxes will also appear brighter in colour and continue to nourish you with energy-boosting carbohydrates.

Office breakfast and lunch ideas for summer

Kickstart your workday with a refreshing yoghurt bowl loaded with juicy summer fruits and healthy nuts. Pair your choice of yoghurt with specialty fruit like strawberries or watermelon to capture the true essence of summer, available to add to your fruit standing order via Fruit Box Connect.

While you and your staff focus on achieving big goals for the year, our premium selection of spring fruit is just what you need to keep your workplace blooming with energy. Locally sourced from the best Aussie farms, our corporate fruit range is designed with employee wellness, productivity, and inclusivity in mind – making it the perfect way to welcome the new season with a spring in your step.

Savour the taste of spring fruit

Reinvigorate your staff and tearoom with a combination of juicy Pink Lady, Granny Smith, and Sundowner apples filling your weekly office fruit boxes. Loaded with vitamin A and potassium, apples boost productivity and help regulate the nervous system. Having an apple every day provides you with the nutrients that promote mental clarity and balance, helping you navigate tight project deadlines and approach stressful situations in the office with greater calm.

Meet your vitamin C goals by snacking on a mix of Afourer, Hickson, Imperial and Murcott mandarins. These citrus varieties are not only a great pick-me-up due to their naturally sweet nature but are also rich in vitamin B and antioxidants, guaranteed to keep you energised throughout the day.

Your office fruit boxes also include bananas this spring. However, unprecedented weather conditions continue to impact Australia’s banana growers. As a result, we are seeing a significant supply reduction and slight discolouration in the bananas we source and individually pack for your workplace. Rest assured, they taste just as good and are packed with nutrients!

Office breakfast ideas utilising spring fruit

Start your workday right by pairing juicy apples with oats for a wholesome breakfast. Delicious with fresh dairy or plant-based milk, you can also top your oats with healthy nuts for extra crunch! If you are looking for something lighter but equally nutritious, swap the oats with muesli; available as a part of our diverse office breakfast range on Fruit Box Connect.

Another breakfast favourite and undeniably delicious combination is apple and peanut butter on toast. Easy to prepare and eat at work, spread peanut butter on your choice of toasted bread and top with thin apple slices. A drizzle of honey is always welcome!

Specialty fruit perfect for spring

Soak in the goodness of spring by complementing your standing order with a selection of strawberries, raspberries, avocados, and more. These varieties not only bring a burst of freshness to your workplace but can elevate any breakfast spread. Follow these simple steps to edit your fruit standing order to pique your staff’s interest with the season’s freshest fruit. Peachy keen to learn more? As an Australian-owned and operated business, we are committed to supporting the communities around us. With the cost of living impacting more Australians than before – we proudly support our fresh food relief charity, The One Box, to provide fresh nutritious food to more than 2,500 households in need, each week of the school year.

We believe food insecurity is a complex problem that requires the collaborative efforts of businesses and community organisations to help reach more families experiencing hardship. Leading by example, Bank First, a business invested in its people, partners with The One Box to build brighter futures for children across Australia.

Via the Bank First Community Fund, Bank First aims to partner with like-minded individuals, charities, and organisations to make a meaningful impact in its community. Recognising the alignment of missions with The One Box, a corporate partnership was formed in 2020 to reach more families. Four years on, this relationship continues to thrive today.

Partnership Impact

As a bank founded by teachers, Bank First understands the pivotal role education plays in shaping communities, with nourishing young minds at the centre of creating a meaningful impact.

Over four years, The One Box and Bank First have partnered to donate over 3,800 fresh food boxes to families experiencing hardship. Together with partners like Bank First, we’re able to provide recipients with dignified, reliable and regular access to fresh food which has fundamental benefits beyond financial and nutritional wellbeing, including:

  • Improved academic performance: With consistent access to healthy meals, we’re fostering better academic outcomes for students
  • Enhanced attendance and social wellbeing: Hunger shouldn’t hinder school attendance and participation. By addressing food insecurity, we’re ensuring students are present and engaged in their learning and no longer feel a sense of embarrassment from their peers
  • Support for educators: Our collaboration also supports educators, who are crucial in nurturing students’ wellbeing. By providing resources to families in need, we’re also empowering teachers to focus on teaching

“Since receiving The One Box, the kids haven’t gone to school with no lunch, or having to have emergency lunch from the school, so that’s a big help.”

– Program Beneficiary

“As an organisation deeply embedded in the education and health communities, we have a profound alignment in values with The One Box. Recognising the critical link between food security and wellbeing, we acknowledge the invaluable role played by The One Box in providing essential produce, particularly in educational and healthcare settings.

Our staff love getting involved – be it spreading the word through the workplace or their own communities. They take pride in knowing their involvement contributes to making a difference in the lives of families experiencing food insecurity. Bank First and our staff are proud to partner with The One Box in ensuring access to nutritious food, contributing to overall health outcomes for those in need.”

– Bank First

The One Box’s successful and ongoing partnership with Bank First is a testament to the power of like-minded businesses coming together for social good. Together, they are making a difference in the lives of those in need and fostering a culture of compassion and support within our community.

The ultimate citrus fix – Mandarins & Oranges

Beat the winter blues by snacking on a mix of Afourer, Hickson, Imperial and Murcott mandarins over the coming months. Sweet and zingy, mandarins work wonders to prevent infections and colds, helping keep your team’s immunity in check this winter. The season has commenced and we’re excited to see an abundance of juicy Royal Gala, Pink Lady, and Granny Smith apples filling your weekly fruit boxes. Rich in vitamin A and potassium, including apples in your office breakfast can help boost brain power and productivity levels all day.

Green William and Beurre Bosc pear varieties are also in season, and are an excellent source of fibre and vitamin C to keep your immune system fighting fit. These pears are both on the sweeter side and perfect to reach for when those 3pm sugar cravings hit.

Due to unprecedented rain in Far North Queensland, you may notice a slight change in the look of the bananas in your office fruit boxes. Do not fret because banana quality is more than skin-deep, especially when they are sourced from the best Queensland farms. So, while the season’s bananas may look a little dull and have more external markings and speckling than usual – rest assured they taste just as good! We hope that as the season progresses the conditions become more favourable.
